2012 Dousman Duathlon

     located off of Hwy 94 and Hwy 67, just south of Oconomowoc

The Dousman Duathlon is in its seventh year and offers riders a lovely countryside backdrop bursting with fall colors. After you cross the finish line, enjoy delicious pancakes and other refreshments. The event features training rides six weeks before organized by the Bike Doctor.

Training Rides are to start 6 weeks before the event. These rides are organized and operated by the Bike Doctor located in Dousman, WI. Details coming soon.

PARKING WILL BE AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL WHICH IS A FEW BLOCKS FROM CORY PARK. NO PARKING ON MAIN STREET.

DISTANCE
     2 mile run  21 mile bike  2 mile run

THE COURSE
Run Course
First run leg same as second leg.  Goes through Dousman and quiet residential streets surrounding the park.
Bike Course
A beautiful and scenic course through the country roads surrounding Dousman.  Start off with a couple great hills followed by a few rolling hills.
Run Course
Second run leg same as the first and finishes on a long stretch to the finish line at Cory Park.

WHAT MIDWEST SPORTS EVENTS PROVIDES
We provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events.  Participants receive a Long Sleeve Dri Wick shirt, chip timing, food and fun after the event.  There will also be plenty of water and Gatorade stations along the course.

Bike racks will have your race number and wave you start in.  Each mile on the run courses will be marked.  All courses will have highly visible signage for each turn.  The long bike course will have aid stations and bottle exchange. 

Sign up early!  The wave you are in is a first come first serve basis and is determined on how early you register. 

After the event results will be posted at midwestsportsevents.com and pictures will be available at John M. Cooper Photography.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners.  Age group awards will be given to the top 3 male and female in 5 year increments:  14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up. Awards to the top overall 3 relay teams, Athena and Clydesdale.  Athena and Clydesdale division is scored separately from age groups and is optional to enter.  Athena is female 150lbs+ and Clydesdale is male 200lbs+.

EVENT RULES AND INFORMATION
1. Bike course- NO MP3 players, IPODs, radios or headphones allowed.
    Run course- they are allowed.

2. Course cut off time: 4 hours after the start of the race.
3. Helmets are mandatory. 
4. Drafting is not permitted. Penalties will be enforced for drafting.
5. Please remove all equipment from the transition area after the Awards Ceremony. 
6. Bike Doctor has an optional bike safety check Saturday and Sunday of the event.
7. Chip Pick-Up is during the registration times. 
8. For safety reasons, we ask spectators to not follow your athlete in the car.
    The best place to watch is at the transition area and the finish line.

9. Transition will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the event, at 7:15 a.m.
10. We do not give refunds nor do we transfer fees from one race to another.
11. Disqualification will be enforced for any disrespect of public officials,  
       volunteers, other athletes, or staff.


*Note: Midwest Sports Events has an unmarked security guard watching Transition at all times to protect and secure your equipment during the event. We do need all bikes removed after the award ceremony so our staff can begin tear down.

VOLUNTEER
Get a front row seat as a volunteer!  Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant body marking, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food.  All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food during the race and a big thank you!!!
