2010 Lake Country Half
Marathon & 5K

Record Numbers make for
a Jamming Day
Even
with the woes of construction and a brand new course, the
fifth annual Lake Country Half Marathon turned out record
numbers. Cooler temperatures and just over 1400 people
crossing the finish made for a fun and exciting race.
The
race started out fast in the Half Marathon, with race winner
Tim Caramore of Madison separating himself from the pack
early, finishing with a time of 1:11:36.
Tim was nearly four minutes ahead of second
place Nick Seiske of Waukesha who finished in
1:15:20; taking third was Marek Kotrly with a time of
1:16.36.
The
women’s Half Marathon race was lead from start to finish by
Angela Geschke of Beaver Dam with a time of 1:24:09.
Elizabeth Paddock of Madison took the 2nd podium spot
in a time of 1:26:14.
3rd place went to Annie Weiss in a time of 1:26:31.
The 5K
saw some fast times also with Joe Giacalore of Hartland
taking top honors for the second year in a row, with a time
of 16:55. The
top female winner, Waukesha native Heather Haviland, was
pushing the pace of the top male winners as she cruised to a
3rd place overall and a 1st place in
the women’s division with a time of 19:30.
